Baltic Rail is pleased to announce its operational results for 2024. TEU handled in all Baltic Rail terminals are summarized in the chart below.
As seen from the chart TEUs handled have increased by 40.6%. This result has been achieved with the opening of the new operation in Székesfehérvár in Hungary and new connections to the Baltic Sea operated in cooperation with our partners.
The troubles in the Red Sea have reduced the volume of business on Baltic Rail’s Adriatic Service but the war in Ukraine is resulting in traffic flows converting from Trans-Siberian trains to alternative routing through the Adriatic and Black Seas.
Commenting on the performance Stephen Archer, CEO of Baltic Rail, said: ‘2024 has been a challenging year but Baltic Rail has shown its resilience and used its innovation and flexibility to benefit from the opportunities in the market place. We hope for a return to a more stable environment in 2025 when, together with our customers, we can plan with more certainty.’
